IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR DISTRICT LICENSE APPLICANTS
The Board of Ministry Day this year will be held June 12, 2008 at Peoria First Church of the Nazarene. If you are requesting or renewing District Licensing your attendance is required. Please plan now to attend this day. Your transcripts from the classes you have taken this year need to be submitted to Rev. Jim Book by May 13, 2008 in order to receive credit for studies this year.

Studies and Class Information
To enroll in the Course Of Study, you must be locally licensed by your home church (see Local and District Licensing section below) and the following form must be submitted by your pastor. NWIL Course of Study Application.

Our district allows you to take the modular course of study through classes offered on the district. Information and registration is handled by Rev. Troy Horne, tnkhorne@grics.com or (309) 543-4200. Other approved options are Nazarene Bible College On-line, Northwest Nazarene University On-line, and Olivet Nazarene University (Michael Davis - (618) 435-8136 or logos7@verizon.net).

Local and District Licensing Information
Local Minister's License: If you wish to apply for or renew a Local Minister's License, follow this link.
District Minister's License: - applying for or renewing: The Minimum Requirements for recieving a District License includes holding a local license for one full year plus having completed one of the following necessary course work options:
1. Completed at least one-fourth of a validated course of study for ministers at one of our schools of higher education ****OR ***** 2. Completed at least six classes in the Modular Course of Study of which one must be Nazarene History and Polity
Staff pastors: Each year you must have two forms submitted: You need to fill out a District License Application (click on appropriate links) PDF or WORD doc . This form must be filled out each year and submitted to Rev. Eric Nelson (Colona) Grace Community Church of the Nazarene at 507 1st St., Colona, IL 61241-9746. You should give a copy to your Senior Pastor/Church Board and they need to approve your request and fill out the following District License Recommendation Form PDF or WORD document and return to Rev. Nelson as well. Both of these must be submitted by May 23rd. Please plan accordingly. See Annual reporting Requirements below for additional required report.
Pastors (Senior pastors and churches with only one pastor): Each year you must submit the District License Application Form (click on the District License Application above) by May 23rd. You are recommended for renewal by the District Advisory Board and do not need to have the Church Board complete the District License Recommendation Form.
Divorced Applicant Requirement: The NWIL policy on "The Divorce Issue" includes the following two paragraphs:
"All divorced persons (applying for a District license on the NWIL District) will meet with the District Supt. prior to meeting with the Board of Ministry. The appropriate documentation of the divorce will be presented and discussed." (Please make an appointment for this meeting with the D.S.through the District Office.)
"The issue of removing the barrier for licensing and potential ordination will be recommended to the Board of Ministry by the District Supt. at the appropriate time."
Ordination Information
Ordination is a combination of: Education - graduating from a validated course of study; Displayed competency of Character, Content, Context and Competency; Time served in an assigned position; and approval of the Board of Ministry, the District Superintendant and the residing General Superintendant.

Ordination Application: Forms are available in PDF or WORD documents. You must submit applicable district licensing forms as well the year you apply for ordination. All aplicationsshould be submitted to the District Secretary, Rev. Eric Nelson.

Annual Reporting Requirements
All Licensed Ministers that are not senior pastors: With the above forms, you need to submit an Annual Report to Rev. Nelson as well. This report needs to be filled out and can be submitted with the above licensing paperwork. PDF WORD
